Who runs the SDACT?

The organization of the SDACT is composed of three distinct segments: the General Membership, the
Senior Delegates and the Executive Board.
The General Membership is open to all lay employees of the Scranton Diocese. Membership is based upon application and payment of dues. Members of the General Membership have the right and duty to voice their opinions, needs and desires in whatever area affects their professional growth. They also possess voting power in terms of ratification of the contract with their employer and the election of officers to represent them. The General Membership is requested to attend general membership meetings and to participate in the professional activities of the organization.
The Senior Delegate
is elected by the members at each school site. It is the responsibility of each
Senior Delegate to maintain the lines of communication between their school and the Executive Board of the SDACT.
Senior Delegates have the right to call meetings of local members in their
respective schools to ascertain their needs, concerns and desires.
Members of the Executive Board include the offices of President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and three Members At Large who are elected by the total membership of the SDACT. The offices of Area Vice Presidents
for Elementary Schools and Area Vice Presidents for High Schools Northeast, Central, Southeast and Southwest are elected by the members of those geographical areas (Holy
Cross System, Holy Redeemer System, Notre Dame System and St. John Neumann
System respectively). The Executive Board is the working element of the SDACT. Members of the Board conduct general meetings and carry on all the official business of the organization.
On all levels, the SDACT strives to be at all times as democratically run an organization as possible.
