CONTRACT PROPOSAL PREPARATION TEAMS MEET

      During the first week of December, we gathered the membersof the Contract Proposal teams from the Holy Redeemer and St. John Neumann Systems.  Weather twice forced cancellation of our meeting with the Holy Cross Team. (Which is being rescheduled for early January).  Both meetings drew an enthusiastic response from the participants.  Initial survey results were examined and several additional issues added by Team members. 

     Soon SDACT members will receive a second survey listing those issues gathered from the initial forms and asking that our members now prioritize those needs and desires.  From those surveys results, contract proposals will be drafted by the Contract Proposal teams.

     SDACT members Mary Humiston and Gene Gowisnok, both veteran negotiators, have volunteered to co-chair a special health care benefits committee.  Several additional volunteers from each of the systems will be joining Mary and Gene as they study the very complicated issues of health care benefits.  To date, we have lined up representatives from Blue Cross/Blue Shied, Geisinger and Etna to speak to the team on products, services and price offered by each.  Other carriers are also being considered.  Another committee, yet to be formed, will be studying the finances of each new school system.  SDACT members with good math skills would be especially valuable to the Association in this role.  If you would like to volunteer to serve on this committee, please contact the SDACT office.
