November 16, 2007 On November 1, 2007, SDACT formally requested recognition as the union representing all teachers in the Holy Cross, Holy Redeemer and St. John Neumann systems of schools. Today, we received a response from each of the System Directors in those regions. The letters, which are worded identically, state: "Receipt is acknowledged of your letter of November 1, 2007, formally requesting recognition as the collective bargaining representative for professional employees of the (name of System) Regional School System. Our Board has not yet been able to fully evaluate your request. As soon as we have had an opportunity to do so, I will forward a formal response to you." Once again, we ask that our members continue to remain patient. The fact remains that we have garnered the support of nearly all of the teachers in the three Systems. As long as that solidarity continues, recognition can only be delayed, but never denied. We hope that the new Boards will move swiftly on this matter. We will keep our members informed on any and all news in this regard.
